About the role

Reporting to the Planning Manager the Contract Administrator Team Lead is responsible for the Contract Administrator job family, the consistent approach to processes and system architecture and support to the project delivery of External Maintenance Periods (EMPs), Major Capability Upgrades and Maintenance Windows of Opportunity (MWOs). Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support the management of project cost control methods, monitor costs and forecast
  • Reconciliation of costs between SAP and other project control systems and variance analysis against budgets
  • Review all contract control activity, ensuring resources provide timely availability of project information to all stakeholders through each stage of the production lifecycle
  • Provide holistic input and recommendations to project teams as part of the supplier selection process
  • Support the development and monitoring of the planning and delivery phases throughout the production lifecycle
  • Control system architecture including the maintenance of steps and processes of the business ERP tool (SAP) and have reflected changes within business policy (Compass - BMS)
  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams on ERP functionality and reporting sets provided (dashboards, progress reports)
  • Ensure project registers from project teams are standardised effectively to report consistently and accurately
  • Control system architecture including the maintenance of steps and processes of the business ERP tool (SAP) and have reflected changes within business policy (Compass - BMS)
  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams on ERP functionality and reporting sets provided (dashboards, progress reports)
  • Ensure project registers from project teams are standardised effectively to report consistently and accurately
  • Provide data as requested to support operations and program reporting
  • Support the coordination of project performance reporting and assist with the identification of variances and promote project teams to take the appropriate and timely action
  • Support the identification of risks, uncertainties and opportunities during the delivery phases of project and develop, implement agreed recommendations that contribute to project outcomes
  • Lead, coach and mentor a team locally and remotely

About you

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar position in related industry
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Project Management standards and processes (Prince2, PMBOK, EVM)
  • Advanced in excel and SAP functionality
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of quality management, asset management and measurement systems
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Wide range of experience, knowledge and networking in the Defence Industry
  • Experience in Management of Business Improvement Initiatives from inception through to implementation
  • Understanding of systems and information architecture development life cycles
  • Sound experience in a business management or operational functional role involving project management
  • You MUST be an Australian Citizen and hold or be eligible to attain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
