About the Role

We are currently seeking a Jumbo Operator to join our team at Leinster. The successful individual will be undertaking Jumbo development and rehabilitation activities. Reporting to the Supervisor Mining Production you will demonstrate the following:

  • Overriding commitment to BHP Billiton Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development
  • Family friendly 7x7 roster flying in and out of Perth (dayshift and nightshift required)
  • Contributing to our safety and continuous improvement culture
  • Work effectively with other team members
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Experience in working in underground operations as a Jumbo operator
  • Detailed knowledge of the operation of multi-boom jumbos
  • Ability to read and understand detailed survey plans and layouts
  • Ability to read and understand designed ground support plans
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of jumbo rigs
  • Experience with Sandvik Twin Boom Jumbos will be highly regarded
  • Minimum C class Driver’s Licence required
  • Motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and engage in team operations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes
  • Strong orientation to safe work practices – High safety focus

Nickel West Leinster

Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate.
