Rio Tinto Iron Ore Aboriginal Training and Support Program (ATAS)
Are you interested in getting in to mining so you can support your community and mob in the future? We have 12 month paid traineeship opportunities across our Pilbara operations and we’re inviting the Traditional Owners on the land where we operate and other local Pilbara-based Aboriginal people to apply.
ATAS is a program designed to help you enter the mining industry without prior qualifications or experience. All you need is enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a high regard for working safely. As a trainee you will receive quality on the job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced employees. You’ll also gain a nationally accredited qualification to help you build your future career.
These opportunities can be residential so you can stay on country, or you can fly in fly out from Perth or other WA regional locations (depending on the role). There are various rosters on offer.
