Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.
About the team
The ROM Network & Asset Maintenance team are the custodian of the assets and represent the asset owner. They manage the assets to deliver safe, sustainable and integrated services to regional NSW communities.
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Director Regional Assets to join us in our ROM Network & Asset Maintenance team.
This is a strategic senior leadership position where you will be the custodian for transport infrastructure assets across regional NSW. You will lead the development and implementation of transport network asset maintenance plans and strategies in line with the Transport Asset Management Framework and the Division’s Assets and Services Plan.
As a passionate leader you will inspire, motivate and develop a diverse, robust and multi-disciplinary team to deliver asset programs. With the customer at the heart, your team will be responsible for ensuring that assets are fit for purpose, deliver required customer and community outcomes and that asset performance risks are identified and managed.
You will lead the development and review of maintenance and upgrade strategies and forward maintenance programs to ensure the effective whole of life asset management for ROM transport assets.
You are a passionate senior leader with extensive experience in the provision of specialist advice to an Executive looking for an opportunity contribute to delivering a safe, sustainable and integrated transport system throughout regional NSW.
You will have solid experience in leading teams through change and a proven record of outcome delivery consistent with industry best practice both locally and globally. A commercial lens is essential for success, however we will not compromise on safety and quality requirements. Whole of life thinking and risk management is in your DNA and Tertiary qualifications in Engineering will be advantageous.
A customer – centric approach is what will see you succeed in this role. You’ll have a flair for building and maintaining collaborative relationships. Your ability to inspire and empower others to enable the delivery of strategic goals and objectives is paramount.
