Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The Division

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

About the team

The ROM Network & Asset Maintenance team are the custodian of the assets and represent the asset owner. They manage the assets to deliver safe, sustainable and integrated services to regional NSW communities.

The Opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Director Regional Maintenance and Delivery to join us in our ROM Network & Asset Maintenance team.

This is a strategic senior leadership position. With the customer at the heart, you will be responsible for providing professional guidance to ensure state-wide delivery of road, vehicular ferry and bridge maintenance and upgrade projects. You will drive the delivery of works and services to improve the efficiency, reliability and safety of transport within and between regional cities and centres.

As an inspiring leader, you will empower your team to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers. The management of contracts, project briefs and maintenance agreements will be done in a timely and cost effective manner as per our client’s requirements.

Continuous improvement will be front of mind. As a passionate leader you will inspire, motivate and develop a diverse, robust and multi-disciplinary team . You’ll be responsible for mentoring others and developing the capabilities of individual team members to support the delivery of the strategic plan.

About you

You are a passionate senior leader with a proven track record of delivery looking for an opportunity to contribute to delivering a safe, sustainable and integrated transport system throughout regional NSW.

You will have solid experience in leading teams through change and the ability to negotiate with Unions and Staff Associations. A commercial lens is essential for success, however we will not compromise on safety and quality requirements. Safety of our workers and the travelling public is in your DNA and Tertiary qualifications in Engineering will be advantageous.

A customer – centric approach is what will see you succeed in this role. You’ll have a flair for building and maintaining collaborative relationships. Your ability to inspire and empower others to enable the delivery of strategic goals and objectives is paramount.
