Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

Our organisation – Transport for NSW – is comprised of nine integrated divisions that focus on achieving community outcomes for the greater good and on putting our customers at the centre and our people at the heart of everything we do.

The Division

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

The opportunity
In this critical and high profile senior leadership role, you will play a key role in providing direction for the Network and Asset branch governance, risk, assurance and reporting across the asset lifecycle, including developing and delivery of their framworks, tools,systems and processes.

Reporting to the Executive Director Networks and Assets, you will ensure strategic performance and improvement plans are informed by robust data and analysis, sourcing data from a variety of reliable sources and ensuring a sound evidence base for strategy and business cases.

You’ll enjoy operating with a high degree of autonomy and you’ll thrive on being a trusted advisor.

About you

You have a wealth of experience in delivering high level strategic plans, proposals, and business cases with the ability to assess strategic requirements and identify new opportunities, along with a proven ability to lead complex change and improvement programs in a dynamic environment. You will have an extensive knowledge of management, analysis of sustainability and optimization of strategies, planning and performance enhancements in a large complex organisation. You will possesses an experience in the development and implementation of governance, risk, assurance and reporting frameworks.

You’ll have an affinity for transport and a passion for delivering better outcomes for regional NSW customers. You know what makes an excellent business case and you have a structured approach with an eye for the detail. You know how to build and lead high performing teams and you have a proven track record in collaborating across large and complex environments to achieve success.
