Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity

We are looking for People Officers to fill 1 x fixed term opportunity until June 2021 and to build a talent pool for our dynamic People and Culture team. It’s a great opportunity to support and assist the People team to develop a highly engaged and ‘customer centric’ workforce whilst putting our people at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking interest from HR professionals who want to be part of something big and make a positive impact. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with People teams to develop an understanding of their key organisational priorities and to effectively gain commitment to implement current and future people initiatives and projects.

You will:

  • Support People Partner teams in the delivery of all aspects of workforce management
  • Interpret HR metrics and information in support of project planning, reporting and forecasting purposes

We are creating a talent pool to fill 6 – 12 month+ temporary positions as and when they become available within this dynamic environment.

About you

You demonstrate experience in providing support services in Human Resources or a related discipline as well as having exposure to working in a project setting.

You take a big-picture approach and possess analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and statistics into meaningful HR insights.

You’re self-driven, intuitive, and technically savvy, highly organised and display a willingness to learn.

Your ability to effectively communicate, work collaboratively, build productive relationships and deliver to deadlines will set you up for success.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 5A ($81,368) – 5E ($89,506) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
