Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking. We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity


The Senior Manager Contracts works with critical vendors to develop a long-term relationship to ensure the smooth running of contracted activities and ensure compliance with TfNSW policies and guidelines for contract management.

The role will lead the contract team act as subject matter expert and escalation point for management of contract and commercial arrangements for the Branch.


What you will be involved in

The Senior Manager Contracts will lead the negotiation and agreement of commercial matters, including new contracts and contract amendments to deliver value for money and agreed business outcomes for TfNSW. Other key accountabilities include:

  • Managing changes over the life of the contract, ensuring suppliers deliver to the requirements of the contract, and monitoring and analysing supplier performance to ensure that goods and services are in line with agreed conditions
  • Establishing effective working relationships with the internal division to leverage the breadth of expertise in managing strategic supplier contracts
  • Leading the team to ensure the ongoing administration and variation of contracts, including compliance with agreed

About you

To ensure success in this role, you’ll have extensive contract management experience at a senior level with responsibility for commercial aspects, including contract preparation, negotiation, administration and dispute resolution. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is required, or alternatively demonstrated equivalent industry experience in a Legal / large, complex, commercial business environment. You will be a collaborator by nature with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
