BHP's Corporate Communications team is looking for a senior, audience-obsessed and passionate digital communications professional to join the global Digital and Innovation team. This role is responsible for managing BHP's digital communications activities and enabling our global Communications team to leverage digital to communicate with their audiences. This role will take on building and executing the strategy, along with day-to-day management of a number of BHP's core global digital channels and will also collaborate within the broader Communications team, functions and vendors to ensure the BHP's digital content and channels are best practice.
We are looking for someone who can expertly wrangle stakeholders from across our global business to ensure we are getting the best quality, audience-centric content through our channels, is a proven digital storyteller in their own right and knows their way around digital advertising. The role requires strong digital experience, ideally working in complex organisations. We are looking for someone who can manage high-level strategy but is also prepared to get their hands dirty in the channels day-in and day-out.
In this role you will:
- Coach the Global Communications team on digital communications best practice
- Create and embed, in collaboration with the Digital and Communications teams, strategic channel plans for BHP's digital channels
- Manage key digital communications channels in alignment with the Global Communications strategy
- Digital advertising management and strategy
- Build and execute global and local digital communications plans
- Monitor and moderate digital channels
- Create content aligned with our global communications objectives, using 'best in breed' tools and equipment
- Participate in the digital and global communications content planning process
Skills and Other Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for digital communications and have strong relevant experience. You will be a strong advocate for digital communications and have experience coaching teams to create best practice digital content.
Experience managing digital communications channels for large organisations like BHP and managing the strategic alignment of messaging and the risk, is a must. Digital marketing experience would be a huge benefit particularly as a large part of this role involves making recommendations on and managing digital campaigns with a strong advertising component.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills are key as are strong written and spoken communication and stakeholder management skills.
In addition, you will be self-motivated, have high attention to detail and be comfortable working autonomously and flexibly. You also stay calm under pressure while juggling multiple tasks and deadlines, and manage periods of ambiguity with ease.
