Technical Engineer - Site

Opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity that will appeal to a highly motivated enthusiastic Engineer looking to step into a wide and varied role offering a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Demonstrate a safety first attitude.
  
• Review & understand detailed constructions drawings
  
• Perform quality control and assurance of temporary works equipment prior to site mobilisation
  
• Carry out inspections of complex temporary works structures on sites
  
• Provide engineering certification of installed temporary works structures
  
• Prepare, install, & commission site monitoring equipment such as movement, noise, dust & vibration sensors on sites to monitor the condition of installed temporary works

Skills and Experience: To be successful in this role, you must be degree qualified, preferably in the civil/ structural discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years of industry experience. Additional qualities we are looking for:

• Developed knowledge of the behaviour of structures to enable you to identify risks & manage them appropriately
  
• Experience working on construction sites as a project engineer or similar
  
• Appreciation of geotechnical engineering aspects of structures including things like slope stability, footings & retaining walls
  
• Detailed knowledge of Australian Standards relating to structural and geotechnical engineering
  
• Strong ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  
• Excellent communication skills, including direct relations with clients & contractors on construction sites
  
• Detailed knowledge of civil construction technologies, techniques & methods
  
• Chartered or Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia highly regarded
