Senior Full Stack Engineer

As a start-up business inside Australia's largest liquor retailer, EndeavourX aims to bring the best of Endeavour Drinks to our customers, powered by our team, technology and data. To achieve our customer 1st strategy, we have combined the Digital & eCommerce businesses for Dan Murphy’s and BWS to transform the customer experience under one brand - EndeavourX.

EndeavourX Hub is based 5 minutes walk from Central station with spaces for different activities such as collaboration, brainstorming or just chilling out playing ping pong. At EndeavourX, we also believe in flexible working, and our teams also have the option to work from home.

You will have a passion for technology and engineering to lead the way in design, development, continuous delivery and operational observability of complex cloud applications in a fast paced agile environment. Be responsible for providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to a cross-functional team of engineers in the areas of Full Stack Engineering in a pragmatic & lead by example approach.

In this role you will

  • Develop solutions for new innovative projects.
  • Delivery of assigned user stories in line with agile delivery practice, working in close collaboration with team members.
  • Designing and building testable systems, protecting the quality of work at all stages of delivery.
  • Work closely with Tech Leads to design always-on, maintainable, robust, secure systems.
  • Able to effectively communicate ideas, designs and challenges to the squad and other tech teams.
  • Participation in agile ceremonies such as standups, sprint planning, demos, retros, workshops, etc.
  • Development of various applications for retail, delivery and e-commerce, incorporating frontend and backend development activities.


Skills required

  • Advanced software development and design skills, design simple solutions to complex problems.
  • Understanding of a broad range of solution architecture principles, designs and patterns
  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and DevOps practices
  • Experience with working in complex product ecosystems with Azure cloud hosted solution
  • Solid understanding of unit / integration / API tests, test automation and TDD
  • Good knowledge of SQL understanding of non-relational datastores
  • Experience setting up build pipeline
  • Experience in setting up Infrastructure as code
  • Understanding of secure coding practices
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Great team player while constantly challenge the status quo & be open to new technologies & ideas
  • Display passion for & responsibility to customer and partners
  • You ‘get’ agile and feel comfortable giving input on team processes.
  • You value continuous learning and perhaps you’re involved in the software engineering community attending meetups, conferences, have a blog or a GitHub portfolio.
  • You enjoy being part of every part of the Software development lifecycle. You can own the code from inception through to Production.

As our successful candidate you will be embedded in Agile cross functional teams and will be excited to be a part of the transformation journey we are currently on. You will have a passion for quality and know what best-in-class engineering looks like and an interest in e-commerce. You thrive on analysing problems, formulating solutions, and making those a reality and build for the long term.

Technology / Tools

  • .Net Core, C#, .net, MS SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node, Angular, HTML/CSS/SASS
  • CI/CD development/deployment practices
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud services (Azure, GCP or AWS)
  • Modern software design practices. Secure coding best practices. Best practice knowledge of API development.
  • Strong development testing knowledge - Unit testing, test automation Jira & Confluence experience


Nice to have

  • Nice to have Docker / Kubernetes, code versioning, Azure devops.
  • Working with Docker containers and orchestration tools like K8s Experience in working with NoSql databases.
  • Experience with microservice architectures.
  • Performance-oriented development, SSIS Modern development toolchain (VSTS/Azure DevOps etc).
