A fantastic opportunity has become available in our Space & Category Management team for an Apparel Space Planning Team Leader. Reporting in to the National Space Planning Manager, this role is primarily responsible for driving standardisation, consistency and best practice throughout Kmart’s Space Planning approach, leading and setting clear direction for the Space Planning Team whilst continuing to build and nurture a high performing team.

This role is a great role for someone who has worked as a Space Planner previously and has in-depth experience of the Buying, Planning, Space Planning and Store Operations functions or a Store Manager currently within a large Big Box retailer. Although this is a team leading role, you will be required to partake in Space Planning Analysis along with the team.

Specifically this role is responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring the delivery of and embedding the space planning critical path/roadmap aligning to the merchandise ranging cycle – to ensure the range commitments fit the space allocation;
  • Leading and managing a team of Space Planning Analysts
  • Continuing to develop a high performing culture within your team;
  • Driving and implementing innovation in the utilisation of space;
  • Collaborate with merchandise teams to drive space initiatives to maximise sales and profit;
  • Work cross functionally to drive productivity and ensure an enhanced customer experience;
  • Place the customer at the forefront of every decision when managing space across the Kmart store network.

The role requires a person who is a keen problem solver, has a continuous improvement mindset, is a logical thinker, natural leader and has strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

This is the ideal time for you to put your store Space Planning knowledge to great use and take up an exciting and rewarding new role in Kmarts’ National Office in Mulgrave!

You will benefit from joining an amazing business and a dynamic team who are all committed to the success of Kmart and providing our customers with a great shopping experience. Our values – Think Customer, Take Care, Live Integrity, Grow Together and Reach Higher will resonate with you deeply and you’ll enjoy being part of a growing, iconic Australian business that has a fantastic culture that is non-hierarchical, diverse and inclusive. Your work environment will be highly collaborative, fast-paced and progressive, with no two days the same!

You will be afforded autonomy and accountability in your role and have access to development opportunities across both Kmart and the Wesfarmers Group, excellent remuneration, a generous bonus scheme & access to Wesfarmers share plan (both for eligible team members), free parking and benefits program including a discount card for Kmart, Target and Officeworks.
