The role

The year 2021 will bring about significant growth and exciting prospects within our Education segment, Sodexo are inviting applications from experienced and passionate Chefs interested in joining our team. We are seeking to attract two Part Time Chefs to join the team at our client's site in St Lucia, QLD. Our client is a leading education provider with a nurturing culture with food seen an integral part of enhancing the overall student experience. You will be considered a part of the client's team and not simply the caterers.

Running a small team and reporting into the Head Chef, you will be charged with overseeing the daily operations including Functions, Catering and Canteen Operations.

Part Time shifts will be offered; one is M-F 0630-1300 and the other is a split shift Sat/Sun 0715-1300 & 1600-1930.

You will also be responsible for (but not limited to) food costing, menu design, managing staff rosters, overseeing effective stock control, cooking & food preparation and ensuring a high standard of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness is maintained.


About You

You are a passionate people leader with previous experience leading a team, preferably within a Corporate or Education environment. You hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and have previous experience with events and functions catering.

You demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of food costing, food cost variable (wastage, rotation etc.) HACCP and food safety. You are a personable chef with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team, driving consistency and innovation to deliver required service outcomes.

Finally, possessing RSA and a Working with Children Check are also required for this position.
