The reality is that the Port Industry globally isn’t well represented by women. It’s important to us that we have diversity of thought within our teams and part of that is having diversity of gender. We’re proud that this is a great place to work for men and women and we’re looking for talented women to join us.

As one of Australia’s leading ports, we continue to invest in innovation and growth to move PBPL and the maritime industry forward. Our continued success depends on the diverse skills, experiences and perspectives of our people. Join us and help us build a bright future for PBPL, for Queensland and for you.

About our Port Operations Cadetship
Building on the success and learnings from our Marine Cadetship program, we’re excited to be introducing landside cadetships. You’ll start with us as a Port Operations Cadet on a fixed term contract. Our new cadetships will provide valuable exposure across all of our landside operations including working within our teams at our Rail Terminal and Maritime Security Identification Centre (MSIC) while getting out and about with our Security and Port Operations teams. Over the Cadetship program you’ll also gain experience within our corporate office, learning about the broader organisation and how your role contributes to the big picture.

Our Port Operates 24/7. As a Port Operations Cadet, your hours of work will align with what's happening at the Port, meaning your starting and finishing time will flex between 6am—6pm. Within your first 6 months, you’ll also become part of our duty roster which will require you to work overtime/after hours and weekends to respond and work overtime.

In our Port Operations Cadetship program you will:

  • Get real experience and qualifications
  • Earn while you learn
  • Arrange work and study to suit your life
