Woolworths utilises the ITIL framework in terms of delivery and management of IT Services to the business, and the Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Service) includes responsibility for Service Design, Service Strategy and Service Transition components of the service lifecycle.
About the Role
The Senior Cloud Engineer works with the teams, partners and vendors which deliver cloud services across the Woolworths environment. The role provides Technical leadership, Design and Architecture expertise and support for management of the IT infrastructure services.
This role will work closely with the Product Owners to continuously develop and improve Woolworths Cloud Service Portfolio offerings, in addition to close engagement with Business specific Digital DevOps teams who develop and release digital products to our external customers
You will drive and enhance our existing Product Portfolio and “Infrastructure as code” practices, as we continually mature and evolve our service offerings and ways of working, focussing on delivering standardised, automated services.
You will work with a team of highly experienced engineers and Cloud Product owners to refine the Cloud Platforms, Automation and Consumption product roadmap, and be the Cloud Engineering lead on initiatives to enhance the services offered to our internal customers.
You will develop Business case documentation including financial business cases to support the establishment of additional service capability, including financial justification of IT projects to increase service maturity and capability and have Involvement in the Capital Budget planning process, as related to Cloud service enhancements.
The role is nominally based at Norwest, however will require some flexibility with significant scope to work remotely as well as requirements to attend our Surry Hills office where our Woolies X and Endeavour Group Customers are located

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience in Cloud Architecture and technology with strong Automation capabilities across multiple Cloud platforms. You will need to be able to work effectively in a large corporate environment but at velocity along with:
Ability to capture and understand business requirements as they evolve throughout an Agile project
An SME with solid proven experience (8 - 10 years +) and background in the Infrastructure and/Or Development space.
Expert in Cloud computing fundamentals and technology; Recognised SME in terms of Cloud Architecture patterns, Technology and Implementation, Automation and CI/CD,
Strong understanding of Public Cloud Architecture and reusable standardised patterns with several years of hands on technical experience
Microsoft Azure Cloud SME, with recent and deep experience designing and implementing Azure based systems in an enterprise context
Scripting and Automation SME with recent experience in Azure Devops, Hashicorp products including Terraform and Vault, Github, Ansible and/or other industry leading automation and CI/CD toolsets
Understanding and deep practical experience of core Azure networking and PaaS Services (Eg Express Route, SQL DB, ASE, Azure webapps, etc)
Deep core Infrastructure technical background experience including Sysadmin (Windows/and Or Linux), DNS, Network and Firewall, Active Directory
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience highly desirable, including architecture/design and implementation
Ability to excel, delivering using Scrum and Agile practices, work closely with DevOps teams, and rapidly evolving Digital Environments
Good knowledge of finance for the purpose of cost-benefit analysis and business case development
Significant experience in a similar role within an enterprise organisation
A willingness and passion for technology, including drive to continuously learn new skills
