About the role
Laing O’Rourke is recruiting a Project Manager – Structures to join our growing business in Melbourne. We are pursuing a major contract on the biggest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history and this represents a fantastic opportunity to join a business and team with a great culture. As Project Manager you will take a pivotal role during the tender phase and then lead a team of engineers to deliver a number of major subsurface structures.
As Project Manager - Structures you will have primary accountability for all aspects of planning delivery in the tender stage and then execution in the delivery stage for a number of major structures, including multiple TBM launch shafts.
Managing a team of project engineers across multiple sites, you will directly report and have a close working relationship with the project’s Delivery Director. You will also develop solutions and deliver the works in close collaboration with the Project Director, Engineering Manager and other Functional Leaders, plus the client, key stakeholders and the supply chain.
This role is based in Melbourne at our office in Richmond, with the project sites located in the southern and eastern suburbs.
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications, as well as a proven experience in planning and delivering large subsurface structures, such as TBM shafts, in challenging brownfield, built-up environments and with technically challenging ground conditions.
You will have a collaborative approach to building and sustaining high performance teams and engaging with clients, designers, stakeholders and partners. Strong organisational and communication skills to collaboratively develop and deliver the optimum solution that satisfy client and stakeholder needs, plus meet cost and program requirements, are a must.
