How you'll make an impact

The Strategy Analyst (Global Product Compete) will provide insight through analysis of the market and competitors to the product and strategy team to help shape and drive global product roadmaps and product market requirements. This will help support Xero's ambitious commercial growth aspiration and strategic plan globally.

What you'll do

  • Analysing Xero’s competitive position with a particular emphasis on product offerings relative to competitors in the market
  • Develop reporting and resources on competitor information for teams across Xero to consume, including comparison of product offerings, competitive environment and product strategies across major market players
  • Own subscriptions to and regularly use Xero’s products and competitor’s products
  • Market research on competitors including, earnings calls, blogs, publications, etc to monitor the market and have an in depth understanding of competitors
  • Highlight features that achieve high ratings on product review sites or social networks
  • Identifying and analysing new market trends, technologies and new competitors to the market and provide insights to the team
  • Work collaboratively across a variety of groups and operating companies, pushing work forward and gaining buy-in internally
  • Work with Product Managers, Product GMs and Product EGMs to ensure initiatives align to strategy
  • Provide product competitive talking points for product marketing and executives
  • Assist with analysis on potential acquisitions to determine suitability and growth opportunities

  • What you'll bring with you

  • Strong understanding of technology products and the product development process
  • Working in highly cross functional teams
  • Simultaneously managing multiple internal and external initiatives/projects
  • Working in Agile and fast paced product development environments
  • Understanding of Tech / SaaS company from both product and cost perspective
  • Ideally with 2-3 years experience in business and/or product strategy
  • Tenacious and resourceful problem solver with deep analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to synthesise and analyse data to identify trends and marketing opportunities.
  • An innovative and positive team player with a “can do” attitude.
