About the role

The purpose of this role is to identify, develop, negotiate and win new strategically important and profitable business opportunities for Linde Engineering in the Hydrogen Space.

Based in either Perth or Sydney and reporting to the Head of Business Development & Sales – South East Asia & South Asia, you will be responsible for analysing the Hydrogen market in Australia and devising market development strategies with an aim to establish Linde as a solutions provider.

Further to this, you will be responsible for developing Customer/Partner engagement plans that leverage on Linde’s unique profile.

This is a highly crucial role for the business as it is part of our strategic initiatives towards clean energy.

Other responsibilities in this role include:
  • Analyse business development opportunities and customers as well as develop winning strategies in close cooperation with other business functions
  • Identification of a sustainable and profitable opportunity pipeline through proactive market screening, continuous engagement and networking with customers, relevant authorities, institutions and associations.
  • The initial selection of suitable partners for project execution, development of partnering models and execution strategies
  • Represent Linde in relevant forum and associations.
  • Promote and present Linde’s expertise in its proprietary technologies with focus on the evolving green hydrogen market, petrochemical industry and natural gas industry.
  • Lead proposal development in cooperation with the proposal manager.
  • Lead contract negotiations.
  • Move business deals to a close in a prompt, efficient and productive manner.
What we like about you:
  • A degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in business development and/or project management and/or process design roles with a focus on winning strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business drivers and the ability to analyse the viability of opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of the Australian industry as well as its development and potential.
  • Experience in dealing at a senior level with large Major Companies including government bodies
  • Demonstratable technical/industrial knowledge and deep understanding of technologies and process concepts related to hydrogen as well as petrochemical plants incl. the ability to develop and understand conceptual technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional business, financial and technical acumen
