As Principal Planning & Scheduling, you will proactively improve functionality, operational stability, availability and performance of critical supply chain scheduling applications across Port, Rail and Mines. You will govern and improve the designs and standards for the scheduling applications with a view to increase integration and standardisation across the suite.
An exciting role in a team of passionate talented technology specialists striving for continuous improvement of critical systems leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies, tasks include:
- Setting and embedding the principles, standards and patterns for our applications
- Leading resources in Agile SCRUM for continuous improvement of custom in-house applications
- Identifying and leading initiatives for the improvement, simplification, standardisation of applications
- Provide subject matter expertise for the scheduling app architecture, design, and maintenance
- Full stack development of scheduling applications, including, .Net, Angular, React and Python
- Provide technical expertise and stewardship for the continuous maintenance and improvement of the product stability, reliability and performance
- Lead problem management and root cause analysis for failures in applications
- Develop strong relationships with other BHP teams, service partners, and vendors
- Support a culture of continuous improvement across people, process, technology and cost
To be successful in this role you will have: deep knowledge of the WAIO Supply Chain Scheduling domain and application landscape, proven extensive experience of full-stack development of complex n-tier applications. Proven experience leading Agile SCRUM methodologies and teams.
You will have a tertiary qualification in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline and have post-qualification experience designing, developing, maintaining and supporting complex n-tier applications. You have strong analytical skills with an excellent understanding of root cause analysis, 5 whys or similar problem investigation methodologies.
As the preferred candidate, you have superior interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop meaningful relationships and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels. Your ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and stakeholders simultaneously will be critical. You can understand and communicate highly technical information to non-technical audiences. An ability to lead teams, including third-party vendors and support staff, will be looked on favourably.
