We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven Merchandise Planner to join our team that thrive on making everyday living brighter for our Customers.
Kmart is currently in its growth phase and as a result we are expanding our business to include more store openings, growth in the online sales area and expansion into global markets. Our Planning team, in partnership with our Designers, Buyers and global sourcing team are critical to delivering our business strategy and the success of Kmart which has a reputation for being an amazing place to work and grow.
We currently have an exciting position available for a Merchandise Planner, with amazing career opportunities based at our National Office in Mulgrave, where you will be responsible for driving growth in a high value portfolio.
Reporting into a Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- deliver key profit objectives through innovation, customer orientation, inventory management and analysis
- work collaboratively with your buyer and the broader team
- be a significant contributor in executing the strategy
- trade your business to maximise every opportunity and minimise risks
- control a significant Open to Buy
- forecast stock requirements to maximise revenue, margin and stock turn performance.
As an experienced Merchandise Planner, you will have a solid knowledge base, an inquisitive and commercial mind and enjoy knowledge sharing. Working collaboratively is your preferred style but you are comfortable owning your business and decision making.
Driven to succeed, you have demonstrated business acumen and exceptional commercial results; excel in forecasting, interpreting market trends and executing strategic trading plans to exceed targets and deliver growth.
You are a well-regarded trader, strong communicator and influencer, with a proactive approach. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel is essential.
Specifically you will have previous experience planning an apparel portfolio with wide sizing exposure.
