About us

Barwon Asset Solutions (BAS) is a 100% locally-based maintenance services company, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Barwon Water.

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, BAS provides high quality, smart, asset maintenance and project management services to Barwon Water, its customers and the community. Additionally, as a commercial business BAS provides services to a range of external organisations and agencies.

About the role

You will complete operational and strategic functions while responsible for the services team. This team is made up of multi-skilled civil and land management staff.

You will oversee the management and key performance measures associated with key contracts, you will bring change, manage performance, build safety accountability and ensure all required works are completed in an efficient manner.

You’ll be a key member of the operations leadership team that services South West Victoria. You will have an important part in promoting a high performance culture, supporting Barwon Asset Solutions in creating a safe and inclusive environment that values and respects diverse styles, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

About you

You are safety focused, motivated and experienced in driving a team. You have a passion for learning, innovation and building a strong and supportive team culture.

You bring along excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and have the ability to influence and engage others, our customers and community.

You’ll have demonstrated people management and strategic planning skills and have worked across relevant sectors, including utilities, infrastructure or water services.

What we’re looking for

  • Knowledge and experience gained from tertiary degree and/or operational experience in relevant industries
  • Commitment to leading workplace health and safety and constructive team dynamics
  • Excellent skills in people management, stakeholder management, resource management, service excellence, continuous improvement and organisational awareness
  • Effective communication capabilities as well as problem solving ability
