The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

Job Description

Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance Projects, you will be accountable in leading and guiding a team of Maintenance Associates through a 12 month traineeship to gain a certificate 2 in engineering.

You will lead, coach and mentor the trainees to ensure a high level of performance and integrity is upheld at all times, whilst ensuring that maintenance activities on the plant, equipment and utilities under accountability are safely executed against schedules, plans, and specified standards.

As a Section 44 Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.

About You

Are you an inquisitive, team-spirited and outcome focused individual who is passionate about safety and have the ability to build great relationships within our team, than this is the next role for you!

You will have significant experience with mentoring and training new to industry individuals, whether that be apprentices or trainees. A strength of yours will be your ability to communicate efficiently, ensuring the development of your teams through your influencing and relationship management skills. You will be a proactive, credible and influential member of the leadership team whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

You will possess a qualification at trade, diploma or degree level and hold a current full "C" class manual driver’s license. A Diploma in Frontline Management well regarded.
