A fantastic opportunity to join nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project and largest telco operator, as a Manager Strategic Planning and Insights reporting to the Executive Manager, Strategy and Planning. You will be joining the high-performing Strategy and Transformation Team, within the Operations business unit. The team is accountable for the development of nbn Operations op-model, design, prioritisation and alignment of strategic plans, programs, and key initiatives across the nbn Operations business unit and its interlocks across nbn.
A bit about your role
As the Manager, Strategic Planning & Insights you will help drive the development of the nbn Operations operating plan and manage nbn Operations’ contributions to the corporate end-to-end annual and quarterly planning.
In your new role as the Manager Strategic Planning & Insights, you will:
Co-ordinate and manage areas of the delivery of the nbn Operations strategic plan, including contribution towards corporate plan e.g. Prepare reports and materials required for the production of nbn’s Integrated Operating Plan, investment roadmap and strategy and nbn Operations annual operating plan and long term strategic plan.
Develop an annual Integrated Operating Plan across nbn Operations to manage Opex and Capex spend in line with nbn corporate targets and co-ordinate budget re-forecast processes.
Lead or assist in strategic reviews and strategy development projects to help develop nbn Operations short to long term roadmaps and transformation agenda.
Influence and direct the business planning process to ensure that the business is aligned behind nbn strategy and drive the day-to-day execution of the nbn Operations strategic plan and projects.
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure tight strategic alignment.
Develop high quality word documents, briefing notes and presentations for the Executive team, Board and Shareholders and confidently present findings and recommendations to senior management to enable decisions.
Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities for the business.
A bit about you
You will have hands on experience in strategy planning, business analysis, change management or project management within the telecommunications, construction, or utilities industry.
To be successful in this role, you will have to be a consummate collaborator, be data driven and have the ability to draw insights from operation data. You will bring strong research and analytical skills to the role and the ability to innovate and interpret information effectively.
You will be experienced in advanced management accounting, forecasting and capable of developing integrated Capex and Opex operational plans.
You will bring strong organisational skills and advanced critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and will demonstrate the ability to translate thoughts into actionable and accountable results for the business. Moreover, you will have highly developed written, verbal and presenting skills and the ability to lead, manage and influence the Senior Management Team.
Degree qualified in Engineering, Business Management, Commerce, Finance, IT or related discipline.
