What will I be doing?

As the Systems Integration Project Manager you will be responsible for successful delivery of IBM's systems integration projects, including cloud-related modernisation and migration, and digital transformation type projects.

As an individual within this specialty and skill-set you will manage client engagements, ensuring delivery of solutions for IT, business and client requirements.

This specialty is responsible for leading a project team in delivering a solution to the client with responsibility for managing scope, cost, schedule, quality as well as contractual deliverables, which includes applying techniques for planning, tracking, change control, and risk management.

You will have the opportunity to manage project resources, including offshore global delivery resources, vendors and subcontractors, establish an effective communication plan with the project team and the client.

Also provide day to day direction to the project team and regular project status to the client.
Your strong client facing governance and negotiation capabilities will put you in good sted.

What skills will I need?
  • Agile project delivery related certification eg. SAFe.
  • At least 2+ years of Technical / Business / Industry related experience.
  • Ability to manage Cloud-related projects (eg. on IBM Cloud, AWS, MS Azure or other platforms), for example legacy modernisation, application migration, new development.
  • Proven skill with digital transformation projects.

What experience will I need?
  • At least 4+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Managed all project phases (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, closing) and participated in concept/proposal phase.
  • Managed projects with at least 6 Full-time-equivalents (FTEs) per month over a 12 month period.
  • Demonstrated experienced level in project planning, tracking and reporting; deliverables reflect superior quality standards and drive client satisfaction; ability to consistently meet financial (including revenue and gross profit) targets; and ability to manage project risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships to achieve business outcomes in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ownership and reconciliation of monthly project financials, managing and delivering to overall project price case.
  • Experience in managing distributed teams (onshore, offsite/offshore).
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and subcontract agreements.
  • Demonstrated passion for the business, client insight, breakthrough thinking, drive to achieve, team leadership, teamwork, decisiveness, building organisational capabilities, developing talent, and personal dedication.
  • Successfully managed multidisciplinary teams. Recognised as a positive influence among teammates and have ability to lead others.
  • Experience in managing project management operations, and in implementing process improvement including automation in the project management office
  • Experience managing Agile, and/or hybrid Agile/traditional projects.
  • Project Management or equivalent certification eg. PMI, PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
  • Experience to meet the requirements of the IBM Profession Certification – Senior Project Manager badge within 6 months
  • Experience of Australian government procurement processes and in refining estimation models to develop high quality RFQ responses


You will need to be an Australian citizen and must be eligible to obtain a higher AGSVA security clearance, eg NV1 or NV2, if required due to the nature of client.
