Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.

We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.

We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Project Quality Representative to join us permanent full-time in Regional Maintenance construction crew within the North West district. Our crews help deliver a variety of projects including safety widening, urban-style projects and road renewals across around 480km of road network. With on-the-job training and career development encouraged, the sky is your limit!

You’ll undertake a range of duties, including:

  • Assisting work teams to ensure quality, safety and environmental systems are correctly undertaken on our projects
  • Conducting workplace checklists and inspections underpinned by your extensive understanding of specification requirements of our projects, and
  • Maintaining and implementing TfNSW quality management systems, ensuring WHS & Environmental systems conformance

You’ll develop a strong understanding of good quality construction product and have the ability to raise necessary procedures to ensure our final product meets TfNSW standards, ensuring roads last for their intended lifespan and ultimately enhancing a better output for our communities.

About you

You are passionate about quality standards, are a safety influencer in your crew, looking for an opportunity to take further initiative, and apply your passion for all things safety, environment and quality.

Technology is no issue as you have proven experience operating and adapting to various systems over your career. You have a strong background in road maintenance and construction within the industry and have proven experience operating at a Road Worker level.

The successful candidate must possess a valid in-date C Class driver licence, White Card and Traffic Control Tickets/Certification prior to commencing in the role.

You may be required to work outside normal working hours, attend after hour call-outs, and must be prepared to travel throughout the state and work at locations away from the base station.

Whilst not essential, Strong technical understanding of RMS quality specifications will be highly regarded.

Salary and Benefits

The wage for this position is Works Assistant Grade 3 $1,315.79 per week plus superannuation.
