Financial Risk Advisor

As a Financial Risk Advisor, you support the Head of Market Risk to ensure CUA and its subsidiaries have a robust risk management framework. You have solid experience in Second Line risk oversight, development and review of frameworks which includes liquidity, interest rate, counterparty credit, capital management and budgeting/forecasting. You will work closely with business stakeholders across CUA to actively lead the refinement and development of the risk management framework, continue to embed the Three Lines of Defence model and help champion and embed strong positive risk culture.

As a subject matter expert in treasury and/or financial risk, you will influence the decisions of the Asset and Liability Committee and ensure the business fulfills its role in supporting the Board and Executive. You build strong relationships and networks, working across CUA, including the Risk and CFO teams, to foster a productive working environment.

Essential Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the Financial Services sector
  • Working within a three lines of defence model for managing risk
  • Application of APRA's prudential framework
  • Analysis of a range of financial instruments from an interest rate, liquidity, credit or financial risk perspective
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels to promote effective risk management and -compliance
  • Affinity to credit union values and principles
  • Effective time management, organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
