We are seeking an engaging, astute and disciplined Programme Manager to champion and facilitate business improvement initiatives across our large and highly diversified Facilities Services & Utilities business. These initiatives are targeted at harmonising internal business practises to simplify how we deliver consistent services to our customers.

About the role:

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, FS&U, the Programme Manager will work closely with the senior FS&U Leadership Team to ensure optimal outcomes for the business with the transition and adoption of the ‘Downer Standards’. You will influence and work directly with senior operational and functional leaders to shape and deliver engagement and actions plans. Key accountabilities include:-

  • Planning and supporting the full adoption of the Downer Delivery Management Standard, ensuring the standardisation and harmonisation of operational contract delivery systems and processes.
  • Managing risk and delivering consistent performance, ensuring compliance with the Downer Standard.
  • Facilitating FS&U’s transition and adoption of new systems and processes, with a focus on effective stakeholder engagement and change management.

This role will provide a point of difference for Downer by supporting best in class operational delivery, streamlining of delivery processes and empowering our leaders to lead the change with their teams. This is a fixed term 24 month contract.

About you:

You will have superior interpersonal and communication skills and will bring with you;

  • Experience in developing and fostering strong working relationships with operations, contributing to excellent business outcomes.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing delivery processes, preferably in a technical services environment.
  • Proven experience with continuous improvement concepts and programme management.
  • Ability to communicate and influence leaders and team members at an operational level.
  • Sound business process knowledge at an operational level.
  • Ability to identify and understand people-related impacts and issues.
