About the Role:

This role is an engineering role to build the operational capability for the EGL Cyber Security Team and its stakeholders to identify,triage and manage cyber events. We are looking for an engineering generalist, who will implement Cybersecurity tooling within EGL. This is a foundational role, meaning a great deal of analysis will be required for the optimal outcome of limited resources of EGL.

The role will also be trained in Operational cybersecurity, to act as required in relation to cybersecurity incident response. The Operational element will be approximately 20% of the role.

What will you do?

  • Engineer the Sentinel platform to be the single source of security events.
  • Establish and maintain an internal team and set of internal relationships in support of the Cyber Security Strategy.
  • Works across the IT and trading teams to ensure appropriate focus on security engineering outcomes.

Working with peers and reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer the engineering and support elements of the technical control set including;

  • End-user computing
  • Network controls (excluding FW)
  • Cloud computing
  • Microsoft Sentinel
  • Microsoft Security Centre
  • AWS Security Console
  • GCP Security Centre

About you:

You will understand vulnerability threat analysis tools and tools and techniques as well as having strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage relationships at all levels. You will be active in the Cyber Security Community and someone who is always looking to update and improve your current skillset.

  • Understanding of the technology landscape and who/how to engage
  • Demonstrated understanding of Business Process & IT Systems
  • Conflict Management and Negotiation Skills
  • Understanding of applicable threats and tactics.


  • Experience in large operational and/or Retail environment
