The role

The Demand Planner is responsible for operational supply chain, performance monitoring and corrective actions of the movement of stock for the Rock Tools Business Line, supporting our Sales teams, and more importantly, our customers’. Working across global networks to analyse, plan, and implement actions to control stock, transferring and receipting orders, while reviewing supply and capacity. The role is focused on supporting the overall physical operational and performance of Rock Tools and drill bits in the warehouse and to site projects, maximising the everyday operations of the business.

This role is a full-time requirement, however Sandvik recognises the desire for flexible working options. Flexible employment arrangements can include condensed working weeks, working from home, flexible start/finish times, etc and requests will be considered with respect to optimized customer service and support of business operations.

Areas of responsibility

  • Utilise demand management tools to generate an unconstrained demand plan
  • Work with Production Units / Global Planners to balance capacity with market demand throughout the year
  • Order management and supply monitoring from Production Units and Global Supply points
  • Analysis of demand consumption rates at downstream customer servicing warehouses

Your profile

You will have tertiary qualifications in Logistics/Supply Chain Management with at least an APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management. You have an affinity for data and analytics. You are a natural investigator and problem solver, and excel in a collaborative environment. You are excited to work with a network to achieve your goals and meet customer demands. You have been exposed to a number of Supply Chain Management Methodologies and are excited to share these practices with the team. You have great communication skills and are excited to build on your career in a global organisation.
