The role
The Software Engineer role is responsible for ensuring continuous innovation and development of Iress Products from inception to deployment and production support. This role will work as part of creative and motivated teams to ensure high quality benchmarks are met for deliveries of innovative products for global markets. In particular, this role will encompass working with specialised Accessibility consultants to ensure end-user facing software meets global Accessibility standards. This role is a front end focused role where you work in a cross functional, Agile team using a range of technologies such as Javascript, Typescript, React. What you will be doing
Innovate and develop world-leading products for financial markets and wealth management domains.
Perform software engineering tasks to ensure the highest levels of product quality are met
Review and analyse business requirements, develop product and platform solutions to extend and enhance Iress product offering
Develop high quality automation test scripts to improve test coverage, product quality and time to market
Assist in identifying product and process weaknesses and possible refinements in an environment of continual evolution and improvement.
Work with specialised Accessibility consultants, global stakeholders and clients to identify and deliver features to meet global Accessibility standards. Work with the wider team to ensure Accessibility is ‘baked in’ to core software delivery.
Analyze system and production defects, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Learn from industry specialists and apply best practices to further match our customer needs
Keep up to date with technical trends, tools and methodologies, undertake research as required
What you will need
Typescript, Javascript, JS frameworks, such as React and KnockoutJS
Broad knowledge of semantic HTML and strong CSS skills
Familiarity with Accessibility tools such as Axe would be nice to have but not essential
Experience building Accessible web applications is highly desired, or knowledge of Accessibility practices but not essential
Demonstrable strong design, development and collaboration skills gained in developing software product solutions
Experience working in Agile process and result-oriented culture
Creativity, motivation and strong communication
