Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

About the team
The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering an ambitious and once-in-a generation $28 billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come.
There is a 4 year full time fixed term opportunity for a Project Surveyor to join our Surveying Team. Based in Wollongong, reporting to the Survey Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert technical advice and survey services to infrastructure projects and project development teams
- Advising project managers on the control, collection, interpretation, presentation and application of surveying and spatial information.
- Ensuring compliance with TfNSW, regulatory and statutory requirements and improve work efficiencies
- Providing solutions for contractual and technical problems for the client
You will have completed a Diploma qualification or equivalent in Surveying with relevant experience in the management and delivery of geospatial, engineering and construction surveys and services. Having a valid Australian drivers licence is essential as is a willingness to work outside normal working hours and travel on occasion.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 8 ($102,098 - $109,561), dependant on level of experience, per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
