The Securities Services business in APAC continues to invest heavily in its platform and a key product in Fund Services is Investment Middle Office Services (IMOS). It provides asset managers the ability to leverage JP Morgan’s operational expertise, market leading technology and data infrastructure to manage their trade processing, asset servicing, collateral management, and investment record capabilities. The product encompasses a multi-asset class offering across listed securities, equity swaps, cleared and OTC derivatives, and bank loans, focusing on the needs of large asset managers.

Reporting into the IMOS Program Manager, APAC, the Project Manager will take responsibility for projects to implement the global platform for APAC clients. This includes working across multiple project work streams to develop and manage a roadmap and backlog for each client as well as relevant changes raised by the clients. Supporting the Project Manager will be a team of Business Analysts, Developers, Testers and Operations subject matter experts. Whilst not managing these individuals directly, the project manager will be ultimately responsible for the delivery of each project and therefore the leadership of the execution team.

Key Accountabilities/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Program Manager to ensure full integration and partnership with the relevant Product, Operations & Technology leads
  • Accountability to project sponsors and leads both local and global for schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements across relevant functions
  • Own and drive execution of all assigned projects from initiation to completion, managing the team through daily risks, issues and blockers
  • Act as the point of escalation and communications conduit to executive sponsors / program steering committee and conduct periodic briefings/status updates
  • Engage with clients and, as needed, their technology vendors to ensure requirements and design decisions are made timely and development and implementation activities are managed to a joint plan
  • Manage virtual teams, align expectations and deliverables to the needs of the overall project and manage resources to meet project milestones
  • Maintain effective working relationships with sponsors, team, global functional counterparts, and clients
  • Ensure effective and regular communication with local and global stakeholders through Project working groups, Project Steering Committees and showcases, and clear status reporting
  • Ensuring coordination across the various teams including Operations, Technology, Sales & Relationship Management, Product and Client Service

Qualifications/ Experience/ Knowledge:

  • A tertiary qualification, with additional Project Management certification an advantage
  • Proven experience in project related roles within the financial services industry, with demonstrated understanding of superannuation & investment management middle-office and back-office activities
  • Effective team player with proven leadership capability across large and complex programs of work
  • Ability to manoeuvre within a matrix organisation to achieve project objectives and cope with multiple priorities in a changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build networks across all levels/areas of the business
  • Well developed problem solving capability to drive issues through to resolution
  • Proactive approach to identifying and implementing change improvements
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and other key project management tools
