Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

Right now, we have an opportunity for a relationship focused Resource Manager to join our newly created Resource Management team on a fixed term basis until 31 December 2021 with possibility of extension. The Resource Management function was established to provide a holistic and coordinated service, supporting the end-to-end resourcing of infrastructure projects, within the Infrastructure and Place division.
Reporting to the Senior Resource Manager, you will be focused on partnering with infrastructure project teams to develop and manage project resource plans for Branches within Infrastructure and Place. A key part of the role is providing opportunities for internal staff to work on projects. This role with work closely with the Talent, People Partnering and Procurement Teams to provide resourcing solutions.
What you will be involved in:
- Case manage and provide a personalised and proactive approach to staff placement
- Maintaining data inputs, reporting, and provide insights to the business on resource capacity, future forecasting, and action planning, in order to support project delivery needs.
- Providing advice and end-to-end support to project senior managers on matters relating to resourcing and mobilisation of internal staff
- Work with the team to innovate and enhance resource management services, systems, and processes

Our ideal candidate will have a strong business partnering skillset, preferably with a background in resource management, workforce planning, and/or recruitment, talent operations. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills are crucial for this role, as you will be required to communicate with a wide range of TfNSW stakeholders of differing levels of seniority on a regular basis.
You’ll be able to confidently provide a high level of candidate care to existing TfNSW employees, promote the benefits of our mobility program, and proactively forecast future resource requirements in partnership with our project teams. Being an end-to-end service offering, you will not be afraid to do administration and get into the data detail.
As you’ll be analysing and making recommendations on workforce planning data, you’ll have the ability to analyse people metrics, translating data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 8A ($118,015) – 8E ($132,176) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
