About the role:

The High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT) Project is a Victorian Government initiative and a $2.3 billion investment in Victoria’s rollingstock industry. This position is part of the Project Test and Commissioning Team reporting to the Operations Manager. Responsibilities are to conduct sub-system, train level testing and commissioning in accordance with project test procedures to project deadlines. The position will be primarily based at the new Pakenham East Maintenance Facility and on the mainline network, as required.


  • Follow test procedures
  • Utilise diagnostic software
  • Propose solutions to technical issues
  • Produce test documentation
  • Design testing equipment
  • 24/7 Rostering Schedule
  • Current roster - 4 days on/ 4 off

Skills and experience:

  • Engineering or Trade qualifications
  • Electrical
  • Must have Rollingstock test & commissioning
  • Design standards
  • Meet Rail Safety Worker requirements
