About the Role

We are currently seeking a Slag Dump Technician to join our team at Kalgoorlie. The successful individual will be responsible for managing the slag dump including but not limited to operating Loaders, Graders and Dozers.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Minimum C class manual Driver’s Licence
  • Current or previous experience working as an operator in a dump environment
  • Competent with D9, D10 Dozers and 16H Graders
  • Competency with the following highly regarded: Loaders, Excavators
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes
  • Previous molten material handling experience would be highly regarded
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Nickel West Kalgoorlie

Kalgoorlie is the largest inland city in Western Australia and due to its central location is positioned at the heart of the Goldfields as a vibrant mining town and a major gateway to the Eastern States. Although fairly isolated, the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder offers modern shopping facilities, a huge variety of sports, and schooling for all ages up to high school. The Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter receives nickel concentrate from our mining operations in Leinster and Mt Keith as well as from our Third Party Feed concentrator in Kambalda. Nickel West Kalgoorlie incorporates a flash furnace smelter, converters and an acid plant, which has the capacity to produce up to 110,000 tonnes per annum of nickel matte
