ABOUT THE ROLE

Pinnacle Drinks is looking for a passionate and innovative scientist to join the Laboratory/Scientific team based at Vinpac International in the Barossa Valley. As a Scientist you will be an integral part of the team that will see you contribute to our ISO17025 accredited laboratory operations and learn a broad range of skills and techniques. In this interesting and varied role, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to technical challenges in the group laboratories and also the wider business. This position requires some intrastate travel to other SA laboratories within the Pinnacle Drinks Group on an as-needed basis.

The role’s key responsibilities are to:

  • Monitor and develop laboratory QC programs and systems across the group’s laboratories.
  • Plan and develop new laboratory methods.
  • Engage with the laboratory and other departments to provide technical support and advice.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the laboratory’s NATA Accreditation.
  • Look for opportunities to continuously improve productivity and quality of laboratory operations.
  • Assist in maintaining a strategic Laboratory Technical plan.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Microbiology (or related disciplines)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An innovative and self-motivated attitude.
  • Quality focused with an excellent eye for detail.

This is a great opportunity for you to further your career in the wine industry in a technical role. We also welcome applications from recent science graduates with an interest in winemaking for this position.
