Apply your talent where it counts as an Avionics/Electrical Engineer in our team in Williamtown (Newcastle), New South Wales. Other interstate locations will also be considered to perform this position.

About the Opportunity
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Avionics/Electrical Engineer to provide their engineering expertise on a military rotary wing aircraft program. You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team, performing interesting work and will be employed on an eight month fixed term and part time (0.5 FTE) basis. There is the potential for the position to be extended further.
This opportunity will see you:
Support electrical systems analysis on aircraft capability and future upgrades on Australian military rotary wing systems, including:
Aircraft survivability equipment
Sights and sensor systems
Weapon systems and ammunition
Assess and support the development of technical interface solution to general avionic/electrical systems
Deliver avionics/electrical engineering work packages and artefacts
Develop avionics/electrical engineering design documentation
Utilise design capture and analysis tools effectively to produce high quality engineering designs
Collaborate with the wider engineering and functional teams, seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve engineering practices
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Extensive avionics engineering experience or electrical/electronic engineering experience within the aviation industry
- Relevant engineering university degree
- Experience working with electrical rotary wing systems such as communication systems, aircraft survivability equipment, mission software, sights and sensor systems, weapon and ammunition systems
- The ability to work to deadlines and have strong communication skills with the ability to develop effective relationships
Whilst not essential, a current Australian Defence security clearance or experience working on bid campaigns will be highly regarded.
