The Role

At Programmed we believe “It’s your career, your opportunity.” We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Grounds Services business in South East Melbourne, based at Monash University, Clayton Campus. We’ve worked with Monash University for over 15 years. The location is unique. It boasts extensive native landscapes, mature trees, amenity lawns, synthetic and natural turf sports grounds.

Within a supportive team environment, a Horticultural Tradesperson is responsible for caring for, maintaining, and developing customer sites and associated facilities, using professional horticultural and open space maintenance techniques in accordance with approved plans, policies and hours allocated.

You will also be required to provide technical advice to customers and other team members.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a Qualified Horticultural Tradesperson to complement our team who is ready to further their career in Open Space and landscape maintenance and understands horticulture in a native landscape. The successful person will have the ability to see the bigger picture and take an active role in the overall maintenance of a significant landscape in a busy and vibrant university setting.

On the job development and support will be provided to assist the successful applicant to become a highly valued member of the Programmed Team at Monash University.

We’re looking for a person who can follow instruction and, at times, work without direct supervision, but will ask questions to ensure maintenance work is completed to a high standard and within expected time frames. We also require a person who has a strong commitment to and understanding of Health & Safety and takes pride in delivering work to high standards of quality. The role will requires a person who can display solid written and verbal communication skills and basic to intermediate computer knowledge.

From time to time work will be required at other Monash University Campuses located at Frankston, Caulfield and Parkville. A valid Victorian drivers licence is essential.
