Provide expert advice to stakeholders and take on a technical leadership role in substation primary electrical design, delivering value to Queensland customers.

In this permanent Senior Electrical Design Engineer position you will establish yourself as a technical leader and provide advanced, expert level support to both Powerlink and external customer projects. As the SME within the Electrical Design space, you will be they vital link between a variety of internal and external stakeholders, taking on a customer-oriented approach.
We have a number of interesting projects that you play a key role in, including wind farm and solar farm connections and battery storage, as well as regulated plant network projects, and your role will see you covering all project phases from concept through to commissioning and maintenance, ensuring compliance with all legislated requirements for Safety in Design.
You will also support, coach and train the Primary Electrical Design Team to enhance the capability of the Team, the Group and the Corporation.
You are a recognised expert in Substation Electrical Design and associated engineering, supported by a relevant degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering and ideally an RPEQ in a relevant field of expertise.
With significant experience in HV (preferably 110kV and above) primary electrical infrastructure design, you have expert knowledge and design capability in substation HV plant and plant configuration, and extensive knowledge of substation construction and maintenance practices.
You have advanced technical specification and technical report writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
Your approach is customer-oriented and solution-focused, and your fit-for-purpose methods allow you to consistently deliver a sustainable and cost effective outcome.
