About the role

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible for ensuring payroll and statutory reporting quality by leading, developing and managing the performance and operational activities of the HR Services team.

Add value to the organisation by:

  • Leading, coaching and developing team members to delivery against performance targets.

  • Motivating the team to improve and maintain operational discipline.

  • Managing people performance including poor performance, conflict management and talent.

  • Planning operational activities and training, including cross-skilling and up-skilling.

  • Ensuring quick reference guidelines (QRGs) documentation is maintained

  • Ensuring queries and requirements are managed within service level agreements and performance targets.

  • Promoting a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement.

  • Contribute and support the HR Services Manager with the development of the strategy.

  • Identifying operational risks and provide mitigations and controls.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 4-7 years experience as a HR / Payroll professional.

  • Tertiary qualification in HR / Payroll or business related field (or similar).

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capabilities with teams of similar size (circa 8 direct reports).

  • Demonstrated knowledge in Australian payroll statutory and legislative requirements.

  • Ability to perform operational and workforce planning.

  • Proven strong communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues at all levels.

  • Proven ability to perform risk management / assessment practices.

  • Experience leading teams using enterprise HR systems (SuccessFactors, EC, SAP HCM desirable).

  • Demonstrated ability to take a key role in a project or team environment.
