We are looking for a highly motivated and results driven Project Supervisor to join the Tararua Alliance to be part of the development and delivery of a multi-million dollar road improvement project.

Having gained Shovel-Ready funding, the Tararua District Council are upgrading a 26km section of a key transport route running near the eastern coastline. The project goals are to strengthen and improve the resilience the road, which in turn will support the local economy and the community it serves.

About the role
Reporting to the Project Manager and supported by a Project Engineer, your role will be to direct the day-to-day operations of the site and manage the physical works - this could be bridge strengthening, earthworks for pavement realignment and widening, geotechnical improvements and drainage construction. This includes:

  • Ensuring our deliverables are being achieved
  • Providing guidance and training for operational staff and sub-contractors
  • Utilise resources to their fullest potential.
  • Continuing and developing our positive Zero harm culture

Additionally, this person will ensure key customer and key stakeholder relationships are enhanced and good working relationships with the Tararua council are maintained and developed, actively fostering a “leading through collaboration” and “best for network” approach.

About you
It is essential to have several years’ supervisor experience in the civil construction industry with particular experience in road construction. Plus you’ll have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Health & Safety knowledge
  • Ability to influence with demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others
  • Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames
  • Full Class 1 drivers licence minimum
