The Information Management team are responsible for the development of the Business Objects reporting platforms. The team ensure developments are transitioned effectively to the Business Objects support organisation, with appropriate knowledge transfer.

About the Role

Our goal is to have customers put us first, across all our brands. One of the keys to achieving and sustaining this is building and maintaining lean systems and end-to-end processes. As an Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in this strategic imperative by work closely with the Reporting Architect ,Business Object /Tableau Development team and Business Object/Tableau Support teams to ensure designs and development standards are adhered to correctly.

As an innovative and collaborative lead, this “hands on” role will ensure that requirements are appropriately estimated, pragmatic designs are developed, configuration and development are undertaken according to agreed principles and that the finished solution meets the appropriate quality assurance standards. Development according to non-functional requirements will be considered equal to the functional requirements, with solution stability being a key objective.

The role will involve the development and regression testing to ensure the delivery of quality business objects environmental outcomes. The role will also ensure that the development quality is robust and supportable and Operational Excellence is maintained.

About You

Ideally you will demonstrate a proven Business Objects/Tableau background, with preference for Retail and Financial domains, including:

  • Solid “Hands on” Business Objects/Tableau Development and Administration experience

  • Strong Technical skills with knowledge of key infrastructure in the Business Objects environment.

  • Proven ability to design and develop solutions in a complex BO environment

  • Proven ability to deliver quality BO solutions.

  • Strong team leader, obtaining buy-in to a vision and good people management skills.

  • SAP Business Objects certification preferred

  • Strong personal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence others;

  • Maintaining excellent customer relationships with the business and within IT;

  • High level of personal accountability and the ability to proactively drive continuous improvement;

  • Ability to propose solutions and initiatives and successfully implement these solutions
