About the Opportunity
Reporting to the JORN ICT Lead Systems Architect the Systems Architect will be responsible for understanding the technical Microsoft Windows Platform & VMWare Virtualisation requirements of the JORN Program to ensure that an appropriate technical solution is designed and implemented.
You will need to be able to understand and balance requirements from different sources in complex environments and translate these into robust systems designs.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Architect a cohesive Windows systems and Virtualisation solution to meet functional and non-functional infrastructure requirements
  • Create / review of architecture design packages
  • Review and approve design packages
  • Ensure proper oversight for quality assurance of artefacts
  • Work with the Architecture Lead to Understand, contribute and align to product architecture vision, roadmap, integration strategy and delivery
  • Provide advanced consultancy and assistance to various Business Units, in the design, set to work & trouble shooting

About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Relevant qualifications in an engineering or information technology discipline
  • Minimum NV1 Security clearance required
  • Proven experience within a large organisation, servicing over 500 users. (to demonstrate scalable solutions)
  • Solid understanding of systems and the inter-dependency of systems
  • Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future proof and open solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to both effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders
  • Substantial knowledgeable of SAN physical capacity limits and optimization recommendation
  • Proficient with technical authoring, specifically techniques to describe infrastructure design and architecture (Server, DMZ, Virtualization, Storage, Network, Database, Security)
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of VMWare Virtualisation Platforms
  • Previous experience in Data Centre virtualisation Projects
  • Microsoft Windows platform experience including Microsoft Windows 2016/2019, MS Exchange 2013/2016, MS SCCM / Microsoft WSUS, Microsoft Active Directory

A defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and have the ability to meet defence security clearance and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements for this position.
