We have a new opportunity for a hands-on and experienced Senior Zero Harm Advisor to join our well regarded and capable Power Projects team. The ideal candidate will drive the development, maintenance and implementation of Downer's Zero Harm strategies, systems, processes and tools for multiple power projects. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity working typically on a 10/4 or 3/1 roster (this can vary), DIDO from Melbourne to various sites in regional Victoria.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Partner with key project stakeholders (internal and external) and advise on all aspects of Zero Harm to increase awareness of Zero Harm risks and issues
  • Develop and review Zero Harm management plans and risk registers to ensure consistency with business needs
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare incident investigation reports utilising Incident Cause Analysis Methodology (ICAM) processes
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Project Managers and Supervisors in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments and Control Measures
  • Provide input to Zero Harm reporting on performance and progress, including development of solutions to issues that compromise attainment of agreed performance targets

ABOUT YOU

  • Qualification in Workplace Health and Safety
  • Experience in a similar role within a high-risk construction environment specifically in the power (Substations and/or Transmission & Distribution) industry highly desirable
  • A proven track record and reputation for professional leadership
  • Proven ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders and maintain strong relationships with a consultative approach
  • Extensive experience in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments and Control Measures, internal auditing and incident investigation
  • Extensive experience in leading change to foster the development of a site workplace culture focused on safety
  • Proven experience with conducting Incident Cause Analysis Methodology (ICAM) investigations, site audits, rolling out corrective actions and effectively managing subcontractors
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills that extend to report collation and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop Zero Harm management and improvement plans to drive and promote proactive safety awareness programs over a sustained period with subcontractor and employee workforce
  • Ability to work autonomously and “work with others” to enable coaching and developing rather than a “directing nature”
