At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we're hiring exceptional Operating Model Consultants in our Professional Services (ProServe) Advisory Global Specialty Practice (GSP) that can be obsessed about our customers and their cloud transformation journey. Our Operating Model Consultants help our customers realize the true potential of the Cloud by modernizing their IT organizations, specifically helping define and build their IT operating model; learn how to continuously iterate and improve the value of their products; and transform the way IT and the Business engage and measure success.

In addition to customer delivery, the Operating Model Senior Advisory Consultant role will focus on "rainmaking" within a region, driving a robust pipeline of engagements in collaboration with ProServe account teams.

Operating Model Consultants possess a diverse IT and/or Consulting background and in-depth knowledge of industry IT trends (including but not limited to: business case development, business architecture, IT and Business innovation, organizational change management, IT governance, IT process & compliance, Agile methodologies, IT frameworks like ITSM, ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT, PMBOK, and cloud operating models), leveraging this credibility as advisors with customers, partners, and internally across AWS.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Evangelizing modern IT operating models with senior-level customers.
  • Creating and executing customer roadmaps to achieve their desired future state.
  • Leading business development activities that engage, educate, and excite customers about becoming Cloud-enabled.

    This is a customer-facing role and requires up to 80% travel domestically and internationally to major customer markets, including Americas, EMEA, APJC, and ANZ.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of IT consulting experience in Customer-facing business development roles (equivalent Enterprise IT/Cloud transformation experience may be considered assuming the leader can demonstrate consulting skills like influence, credibility, etc.)
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience translating IT value to non-Tech leaders (e.g., business, sales, marketing, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience building and closing a robust pipeline of opportunities.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, IT management, or related fields
  • Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
  • Experience establishing and managing executive level relationships with key senior business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to influence without authority
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
• Demonstrate strong judgement, independent thinking, and creative approaches to overcome obstacles and issues during change execution
