The Role

We provide software for superannuation funds, third party administrators and for our own use in our automated superannuation administration team. The Iress superannuation software is an integrated and automated solution leveraging technology to maximise automation and reduce manual handling.

The Automated Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring continuous innovation and improvement of Iress products from inception to deployment and production support. You will work as an integral part of a creative and motivated team to ensure high quality benchmarks are met for deliveries of innovative products for our clients.

What you will be doing:

  • Review requirements and design documents in order to create test plans and cases

  • Create automated tests, execute, and monitor as required

  • Perform manual test case execution as required

  • Work with local and remote team members to gain information required to improve testing effort

  • Work with customer representatives to gather information to improve test coverage

  • Document all issues in sufficient detail and produce test reports as required

  • Create and run functional and non-functional tests as requested

  • Prepare representative test data and configure environments as needed

What you will need:

  • Programming skills in any object oriented language Desirable : JavaScript, or Typescript

  • Previous experience scripting test scenarios for automation in Typescript or Javascript would be highly regarded

  • An intermediate understanding of SQL

  • Aware of manual or automated testing methodologies and experience in developing and running automated testing scripts. This includes the ability to write test cases from requirements

  • Familiarity or knowledge of any open source web automation tools like Selenium, Protractor or Cucumber

  • Knowledge of GIT

  • Knowledge of Restful web services or SOAP

  • Experience working in an agile, dynamic iterative development environment would be highly regarded however not mandatory. Familiarity of SDLC would suffice.

  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with Development, Product, Implementation, and Operations teams

  • Experience in Validation/Quality Assurance methodology

  • Degree qualified with relevant experience in degree modules or relevant work experience in a similar role

  • Experience in or understanding of the Superannuation industry is highly regarded but not essential
