Seqirus is currently seeking two fixed term Production Supervisors until 30 July 2021 within our manufacturing operations, located in Parkville. These positions will play an important part in a new team to support a large manufacturing project in the production of a potential COVID-19 vaccine!
Reporting to the Team Leader COVID-19 Manufacturing, the Production Supervisor is responsible for completing tasks assigned in the daily production plan in full, on time and in accordance with cGMP and Seqirus Quality Management systems. Working in a small team on this exciting COVID-19 project, you will inspire and motivate Operators to work to their fullest potential. In this hands on position, you will be flexible with your approach, and be open to learning new production processes.
Ensure all quality records, including batch records, are properly completed and maintained
Review supporting documentation and writing of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Plan and mange raw materials and equipment to ensure they are available at all times
Actively identifies, recommends and implements improvements as required
Measure and review performance against plans and provide updates on progress, to the Team Leader
Undertake trending and verify all critical process parameters within each functional area
Coach, develop and train staff including performing reviews, to achieve high levels of competency and compliance
Support a safe work environment in compliance with policies, procedures and statutory obligations including wearing all relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensuring staff adhere to the same standards
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience and background in Science /Engineering or a related field is preferred, but work experience in a regulated manufacturing industry will also be considered
A strong technical mindset coupled with the ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and escalate when required
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to be flexible in a new team to build collaborative relationships
Detailed understanding and demonstrated application of GMP in a production environment
Experience working on a significant manufacturing project will be highly regarded
Previous experience in a similar leadership position within pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred (candidates with leadership capability will also be considered)
Proficiency with Microsoft applications as well as SAP GLIMS MODA will be highly regarded
The successful candidate will be required to work shift work, with varied start/end times and overtime and weekend work when required. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake vaccination against the influenza virus.
