An amazing career opportunity exists for a talented and inspiring Pastry Sous Chefs to join the Crown Sydney pre-opening team. You will be empowered to proudly present your portfolio of visually inspiring work and will be encouraged to channel all of your creativity, passion and enthusiasm into creations that excite and stimulate the senses. Reporting to the Head Pastry Chef you will be responsible for delivering on the Crown vision and be part of a team accountable for the overall success of the daily pastry operations. Your ability to align your approach with Crowns standards and objectives and your passion for innovation will be key to your success.

Key duties of this position will include:

  • Collaborate on the creation of modern enticing menus across all outlets and events
  • Assist in the management of a diverse team of Chefs and Environmental Service Attendants
  • Strict compliance to Crown’s HACCP program
  • Financial accountability to ensure the operation is profitable
  • Building strong relationships with the leadership group, colleagues and suppliers

Key selection criteria:

  • Experience in high end pastry kitchens
  • Demonstrated experience in a luxury hotel operation is imperative
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in the industry to execute bespoke menus and amenities
  • Advanced team building skills to ensure a seamless operation in a high expectation environment
  • Artisan experience in pastillage and chocolate as well as other specialized areas of pastry
