The role of the Salesforce Architect is to ensure that the Salesforce implementation, and supporting technologies, will support Xero’s long term business goals. This will include helping to define and communicate a clear shared technical direction to delivery teams, ensuring that they understand and align with our technical and business aspirations. Guide implementation of solutions based on sound engineering and architectural practices, balancing long-term direction with current needs.

You’ll bring new, constructive ideas to solutions and, where appropriate, build and communicate these solutions within the wider team. The Salesforce Architect has hands-on technical experience implementing Salesforce functionality and can act as a knowledgeable liaison between technical teams and business users.

At the heart of all this is the Salesforce platform consisting of Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Lightning Knowledge, Analytics, and a growing number of add-ons and integrations, making Xero one of New Zealand’s largest and most comprehensive Salesforce implementations!

What you’ll bring with you:

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect working for large, complex organizations.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Salesforce, working as an Architect designing and building software.
  • Experience with integration of complex data driven systems, domain-driven design and enterprise system integration.
  • Leadership ability to create, articulate, mentor and advocate the vision, technical and semantic direction for a product’s system architecture.
  • Ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitate discussions, and maneuver through difficult conversations effectively.
  • Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment, including relevant software development skills using Apex, SOQL, Aura and Lightning components.
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce setup and declarative configuration including security and sharing, object creation and definition, automation processes and validation.
  • Experience with full Salesforce development and implementation lifecycle including deployment tools and processes - GitHub, Jenkins, Testing automation.
  • Experience with Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Lightning Knowledge and/or Coveo beneficial.
  • Experience of APEX development within the Salesforce environment is highly advantageous.
  • Experience working within an agile/lean environment and driving consistent results.
  • Certified Salesforce Application Architect and System Architect and other Salesforce certifications beneficial.
