Supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council Ideas Grant, this position works within the laboratory of Associate Professor Susan Hua within the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy.
The School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy has a strong focus on research, with an impressive track record in attracting competitive research funding. All research-active School members are also part of the Hunter Medical Research Institute and many play major roles in the University's various Priority Research Centres.
Commencing in January 2021, this is a fixed term position for a period of two years (with potential for extension) and is based at the Callaghan Campus.
How will you inspire us?
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow supported and guided by senior academic staff, you will contribute to a specific research project that aims to develop innovative and improved treatments for oesophageal diseases.
Contributing to a positive team culture, you will possess highly developed interpersonal skills along with demonstrated attention to detail, well developed problem solving and accurate record keeping skills.
You will be degree and PhD qualified within science or a healthcare related field with expertise in pharmaceutical science, cellular and molecular biology, and possess experience in animal handling and conducting vivo studies.
Experience in histological techniques and imaging as well as the capacity to contribute to a challenging research project evidenced by lead authorship of at least one high-quality original research publication will be highly regarded.
